Local Man Dies At Wheel of Auto
Stricken with a heart attack while driving his automobile home from work at the Electro-Metallurgical company in Niagara Falls at 2 a. m. today, Carl F. Proefrock, 53, of 98 Felton street, was found slumped over the wheel of his car on the River road in the LaSalle section of the Falls, lifeless.
Coroner James Heary of Niagara Falls investigated and issued a certificate of death from a heart ailment. Proefrock had been under the care of a local physician for some time.
Proefrock was a lifelong resident and member of St. Peter's church on Oliver street and Sutherland Lodge, No. 826, F.&A.M.
He is survived by his wife, Amanda A., nee Kowsky; two daughters, Mrs. Rowland E. Stubbs and Mrs. Elmer H. Holrod; three grandchildren and his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Proefrock, all of North Tonawanda.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2:30 p.m. from the residence with the Rev. J. J. Braun officiating. Burial will be in Friedens cemetery.
