She was the daughter of the late Louis and Winifred Schmitt. Loving wife of 60 years to Howard A. Wolter of North Tonawanda; beloved mother of Nancy (William) Webb of Wilson, NY, Judy (John) Moskalik of Lockport and Thomas Wolter of North Tonawanda; grandmother of five loving grandsons, Bill and Chris Webb, Tim and Steve Wolter and Andy Moskalik; sister of Irene (John) Leaver of North Tonawanda; aunt of several nieces and nephews. Bern loved people, animals, and decorating. She will always be remembered for her upbeat spirit and love of life. Friends may call at the Fretthold Funeral Home, Inc., 1241 Oliver St. at Ward Rd. in North Tonawanda on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. A graveside funeral service will be held at Buffalo Cemetery in Cheektowaga on Monday at 11 AM, the Rev. David Beutel will officiate. Donations can be made to the SPCA in her memory.
