  Niagara Gazette - 4/16/1955 NORTH TONAWANDA, April 16—William E. Wendt, 76, of 431 Robinson St., died last evening (April 15,1955) It his home. He was employed by the Ameri- can District Steam Co. and the Richardson Boat Co., retiring sev- eral years ago. He was a member of St. Matthew's Lutheran Church, Rescue Hose Co. and the Ex- Firemen's Assn. He is survived by three sons, Elmer, Lockport, Robert, in Wis- consin and Wilfred, this city; eight grandchildren and two great grand- children; a brother, Martin Wendt, of Dalton, and a sister, Mrs. Mary Sahr, Pittsburgh. Last rites will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at the home and at 2:30 at St. Matthew's Lutheran Church. Interment will be in St. Matthew's Cemetery.
