  22 September 1941 Tonawanda News Mrs. Esther M. Wilke Mrs. Esther M. Wilke, 46, nee Proefrock, wife of Walter Wilke, of 519 Prospect avenue, died yesterday morning in the Gratwick Laboratory at Buffalo. She was a life-long resident of North Tonawanda, a member of the St. Matthew's church on Wheatfield street and the Ladies' Aid society of the church. Besides her husband she is survived by a daughter, Mrs. John Derner of Buffalo; two sons, Reinhard and Donald of North Tonawanda; four grandchildren, three sisters, Mrs. Melvin Mills, Mrs. Edward Manth and Mrs. Edwin Freck of North Tonawanda, and six brothers, Henry, Edward, William and Arnold Proefrock of North Tonawanda, Fred of Alexander, N.Y., and Walter of North Ridge. Rites will be conducted Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock from the residence. The Rev. Carl Frankenstein will officiate. Burial will be in St. Paul's cemetery, Martinsville.
