- Raymond E. Lamont passed away January 21, 2015 in
Niagara Hospice House. Born in Lockport on
September 9, 1917 he was the son of Earl and Doris
(Quandt) Lamont. Ray served in the US Navy from
1944 to 1946. He owned and operated his own
plumbing business, RE Lamont Plumbing and Heating
retiring in 1982. He enjoyed music, bowling,, being
inducted into the Lockport Bowlling Association Hall of
Fame in 1998. He initiated and spearheaded effort
to have the Lockport Bypass named in honor of
astronaut and Lockport native, William Gregory. It was
officially dedicated The William Gregory Bypass in
1998. RRay was predeceased by his wife Marion
(Williams) Lamont on June 23, 1979.
Ray is survived by hs two children Paul (Tina) Lamont
of Lockpot and Nancy Brandt of Florida; two
grandchildren, Alex (Jennifer) Lamont and Lindsay
(Kevin) Collins; brother of Florence Judd of Lockport,
and late Margaret Frombgen, Helen Shaffer,, Marion
Gaylord, Fred, Elmer, Charles and Robert Lamont;
also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends may call Monday, January 26th
from 3-7 PM in Prudden & Kandt Funeral Home, 242
Genesee St., Lockport where funeral services will be
held Tuesday, January 28th at 10 AM. Entombment
will be in Glenwood Mausoleum. Memorial donatios
