Byron, March 7.
On Thursday afternoon at 3 o'clock
at the home of Mr. and Mrs. F. A.
Nightingale occurred the wedding of
Miss Ethel Mabel Hahn, the only
daughter of Edward Hahn of Batavia
and Joseph Albert Roggow of . this
place. The ring ceremony was performed
by the Rev. N. J. Shirey of
Darien, a former pastor of the Free
Baptist church at North Byron. A
cousin of the bride, Miss Blanch
Smithly of Darien presided at the
organ and the.couple stood under an
arch of evergreen and white carnations'from
which a wedding bell was
suspended. Following the* ceremony
a three course dinner was served by
Mrs. L. G. Leonard and Mrs. Charles
Chase, assisted by seven young ladies,
iriends of the bride. Twelve were
seated at the bride's table, which was
decorated in green and white, that
being the color scheme throughout the
house. The bride and groom left oa
the evening train for a. short western
trip and upon their return will begin
housekeeping irt one of the houses on
the "Island Stock Farm. The bride received
many presents of silver, china,
linen and money. Guests were present
from Elba, Clarendon, JJarien and
Batavia. Prenuptial events were a
miscellaneous shower, given by Mrs.
Louis Hesman, and a kitchen shower,
given by the young ladles of the
"Ever Faithful" Sunday school class
of the Free Baptist church at the
home of .Mrs. Charles Warner
