- Dallas LaBarber, age 94, of the Town of Wheatfield, passed away on Sunday, February 10, 2019 at Elderwood Healthcare after a brief illness. Born in Wheatfield, NY, she was the daughter of the late Chester and Lillian (Proefrock) Broeker.
Dallas resided in the area all of her life and attended local schools. She married Joseph “Red” LaBarber on August 31, 1947 at St. Johns Church, Wheatfield, NY. Mr. LaBarber predeceased Dallas in 1994.
Dallas was a devoted homemaker who enjoyed cooking and baking with her husband and was well known for her homemade cookies, pizza and sausage.
Dallas is survived by her daughter, Gail (Ronald) Muffler; grandchildren, Michelle (Kris) Christensen and Kimberly (Robert) Castiglione; great-grandchildren, Michael, Brooke Christensen and Joseph, Nicholas Castiglione; two sisters-in-law, Marge (late Emedio) D’Angelo and Phyllis (late Walter) Peters and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Dallas was predeceased by her son, Jeffrey LaBarber; brother, Rollin Broeker and several sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law.
There will be no prior visitation. A Memorial Mass in her Honor will be celebrated on Friday, February 15th at 10:00 A.M. in Holy Family Parish at St. Joseph Church, 1413 Pine Avenue, Niagara Falls, NY. Burial in St. Joseph Cemetery. Please visit mjcoluccifuneralchapel.com for online condolences.
