  Evening News of the Tonawandas Apr 26, 1919 Ferdinand Achterberg, 81 years old died yesterday afternoon at his home on the Niagara Falls boulevard at Wurlitzer after a long illness. Besides his wife, three sons, Charles Achterberg of the town of Wheatfield. Ernest and Gustav Achterberg of North Tonawanda, two daughters, Mrs Augusta Luther and Mrs Albert Maertin of the Tonawandas, 28 grandchildren and five great, grandchildren survive. The funeral will be held Wednesday afternoon from the late residence- at 1:30 o'clock and a half hour later from St John's church at St Johnsburg. Burial will be in St John's cemetery.
