- Clarence H. Dutch Jagow, NF Gazette
Clarence H. "Dutch" Jagow, age 85, entered into rest on Friday January 23, 2004 at Mount St. Mary's Hospital, after a short illness. Born September 14, 1918 in Niagara Falls, Niagara County, NY, son of the late Edward N. and Elizabeth (Wienke) Jagow.
Mr. Jagow served as a Sargent in the Army Air Force enlisting in 1942 and was honorably discharged in 1945. Clarence served as a City of Niagara Falls Firefighter for 28 years, retiring in 1981. Mr. Jagow was a lifelong member of Trinity Lutheran Church. He enjoyed his family and friends, he especially enjoyed camping and fishing in the Finger Lakes.
Mr. Jagow was preceded in death by his brothers, Howard, Edward and Harold Jagow.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Dorothy (Schwenkbeck) Jagow, his children Beverly Parise of Niagara Falls, Barbara (Daniel) LaBernardo of Lewiston, and Richard (Rosalind) Jagow of Youngstown; a sister, Elinor Murtaugh. Clarence is also survived by his grandchildren, Danny and Kendra LaBernardo, Richard and Justin Jagow and many nieces and nephews.
Clarence chose to donate his body to the University of Buffalo Anatomical Gift Program. Private Funeral Services held at the convenience of the family. If one desires, memorials in Clarence's name may be made to Niagara Hospice or Our Savior Lutheran Church, 2759 Military Road, Niagara Falls, Niagara County, NY 14304.
