- Marilyn Ruth Williams Smith, 79, of Maedl Lane, Middleport, entered into rest Thursday, October 15, 2009 at her residence. Marilyn devoted her life to her family, especially her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.Marilyn was born in Sweden Center, NY on January 10, 1930, daughter of the late Roy and Pearl (Winchester) Williams. She was a homemaker who had lived in Middleport for 20 years and was a member of the Middleport United Methodist Church.Mother of Robert (Veda) VerCruysse of Waterport, Louis (Judy) VerCryusse of Medina, Sheila (Victor) Haynes of Arkansas, Ruth Leno of Rochester and Florence (Mason) Shafer of Gasport. She is also survived by several grandchildren; great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews; and a special friend, the late Lloyd Brown of Middleport. Sister of Kenneth (Betty) Williams of Waterport, Roy (Sylvia) Williams of Barker, Sharon (Chuck) Bacon of Medina, David (Marie) Williams of Florida, Richard Williams of New York City and the late Donald Williams, Florence Ver Cryusse and Harold Williams. Also survived by sisters-in-law, Dora Williams and Doreen VerCryusse and the late Carol Williams; brother-in-law, the late Alfonse VerCryusse. There will be no prior visitation. A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, October 18, 2009 at 2:00 PM at the Middleport United Methodist Church on Park Avenue in Middleport. In lieu of flowers, donations in the name of Marilyn Smith to Niagara Hospice or Middleport United Methodist Church would be appreciated by the family.
