RANSOMVILLE — William H. Jeffery, age 86, of Ransomville, died Tuesday, May 8, 2012, at his home, under the loving care of his family and Niagara Hospice.
William was born February 7, 1926 in Ransomville, the son of the late Clarence and Mabel (Gillis) Jeffery and was a lifelong resident. He was a 1944 graduate of Wilson High School and worked at his father's family business, Purina Feed Store, in Ransomville. After the business was sold, William then became Manager of the Youngstown Cold Storage for many years, until his retirement. He enjoyed stock car racing every Friday night at Ransomville Speedway, as well as NASCAR. He was also an avid fan of the Buffalo Sabres.
He is survived by his wife, Phyllis (Gately) (Geltz) Jeffery, whom he married October 11, 1969; his children, Sidney (Carol) Jeffery, Janis Faery, Suzi (Don) McGinnis and Tim (Patty) Jeffery; his stepchildren, Becky (Dave) Shed, Rick (Chris), Mike (Grant) and John (Roxanne) Geltz; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Funeral services and burial in North Ridge Cemetery will be private. There will be no prior visitation.
