Fred A. Gath, 89, Dies
NORTH TONAWANDA - Fred A. Gath, 89, of 78 Washington St., a retired employe of the Buffalo Bolt Corp., died Friday evening (Nov. 27, 1959) at his home after a lengthy illness. Born in Wolcottsville, Mr. Gath resided in this city for the last 75 years. He was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church, Gratwick Hose Co. No. 6 and the Firemen's Benevolent Assn. His wife, Johanna Gath, died in 1948. Surviving are two sons, Edward Gath, this city, and Elmer Gath, Wheatfield; three daughters.Mrs. Carl Allyn, Mrs. Paul Mix and Mrs. Kenneth Runge, all of this city; four sisters, Mrs. Lillian Doebler, Mrs. Edward Wienke and Mrs. Edward Strassburg, all of this city, and Mrs. John Herman, Tonawanda; a brother, Edward Gath, this city; 15 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. The Rev. Lauren Shiley will conduct the funeral service at 2 p.m: Monday at the Fretthold Funeral Home. Burial will be in St. Mark's Lutheran Cemetery.
