- Obituary of Betty Jane Schmoyer Betty Jane Schmoyer, age 89 of Youngstown and Ft. Meyers FL, died Monday November 2, 2015 at her summer residence in Youngstown after a brief illness.Betty was born April 24, 1926 in Niagara Falls, NY, the daughter of the late George and Irene (Schultz) Swift. She was a graduate of Niagara Falls High School and on August 16, 1946 she married Paul J. Schmoyer. Paul was the founder and owner of Schmoyer Co. Inc. which developed and managed Willow Beach Campgrounds in Youngstown. Paul predeceased Betty in 2014, but she was very active in the operation of Willow Beach. Betty was a member of the Lutheran Church of The Messiah in Lewiston and a member of the Service Guild beginning in 1961. She also enjoyed her annual involvement in the Lewiston Peach Festival.She is survived by her children, Jeffrey (Diane) Schmoyer, Kyle (Harold) Sachs, and Stephen (Denise) Schmoyer; her grandchildren, Adam, Matthew, Christine, Colin, Christopher, Benjamin, and Sarah; three great grandchildren; and four sisters, Phyllis (late Ed)Schroeder, Patricia (late Roy) Shafer, Georgia (Jim) Faassen, and Jill (late Jack) Mears. She was predeceased by a brother, George Swift.A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, November 28, at 11:00 am in the Lutheran Church of The Messiah, 915 Oneida St., Lewiston, with the Rev. Thomas Mason officiating. There will be no prior visitation. Flowers are gratefully declined. Memorials may be made to the Lutheran Church of The Messiah. Arrangements have been entrusted to HARDISON FUNERAL HOME, N. Fourth & Ridge Sts., Lewiston.
