MIDDLEPORT, May 24.-Ernest
Wickham, 68 years old. was Instantly
killed Saturday while dynamiting
stones in a field on a farm on the
Telegraph road which he operated
with his brother, Mark Wickham.
Mr. Wickham left for the field earlier
in the day and two blasts were
heard by bis brother. When he did
not come home for dinner the latter
went to the field and found the prostrate
body about 20 feet from where
the blast let go. It Is believed that
while arranging the dynamite under
the stone with a tube he accidentally
hit the cap causing the explosion before
he had time to get away. Tho
body was badly torn.
Coroner LaVerne Waters, of Medina,
issued a certificate of accidental
death. Wlckham's only surviving
relative Is his brother. He was born
in Somerset, the son of the late Mr.
and Mrs. John D, Wickham and had
lived in this vlcolnity his entire lifetime.
Funeral services will be held this
afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the Rich,
ardson and Knuebel Funeral home,
State street, Middleport, with Rev.
Ernest Sanderson pastor of the Mlddleport
Methodist church officiating.
Burial will be in Royalton Mountain
Ridge Cemetery.
