- Darla E. McCormick, 62, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away on August 24, 2020 at Niagara Hospice House in Lockport, NY. Born in Niagara Falls, NY, she was the daughter of the late Harold A. and Elaine L. (Wackett) Zimmerman.
Darla attended local schools and graduated from Niagara-Wheatfield High School. On August 11, 2001, she married Kenneth E. McCormick in Niagara Falls, NY. Darla was employed as a waitress at several local restaurants, including the Georgian House, Goose’s Roost and Bob Evans. Most recently, she worked in Customer Service at Sam’s Club in Niagara Falls.
Darla enjoyed shopping at department stores, cooking, gardening, and occasionally going to the casino. She loved meeting and conversing with people, especially through her work. Above all, she cherished time spent with her family.
In addition to her husband of 19 years, Darla is survived by her children, Shona E. McTigue and Melissa A. Myers; her grandchildren, Austin Edwards, Tyler McTigue, Isabella Cook, Alyssa Jakubczyk, Ashlyn Myers, and Abigail Myers; her siblings, Keith H. Zimmerman and Judy L. Zimmerman-Hertel, as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her sister, Melody C. (late Michael) Salfi.
Visitation will be held on Friday, August 28 from 10 – 1 PM at M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY, 14304 where funeral services will be held at 1 PM.
