YOUNGSTOWN, Feb. 14.—Edward
J. Servis, 58. of Youngstown. early tills
morning, committed suicide by disembowelling
himself with a razor. Deaih
was—almost insiantoneous.
Mr Servis' sou. Spencer, shortly after
6:30 o'clock heard a thud in his
father's bedroom. He went in and found
his father lying on the floor, dead, in j
a pool of blood. j
Dr. L. W. Faulkner of Youngstown
and Coroner Frank T. Carmer of Newfane
were Immediately called |
Mr. Servis, who was born in Porter
Center and. who"lived his entire life
near here^ was a farmer. With his son
he operated a farm about a mile from
Youngstown. For a long time he had
been In poor health, which it is said
ruade him very despondent and melan:
sholy. No other reason for his act can
be found. He was formerly a weU known
business contractor and many cf the
new buildings at Fort Niagara were
built under his supervision. He also
built several government buildings r.ear

I one daughter, Dorothy, of Buffalo. He j
was' a member of the Presbyterian I
church.
