- Russell A. Severance, age 68, of Batavia, died peacefully Dec. 3, 2019, at Crossroads House. He was born in North Tonawanda on August 6, 1951, to the late Gerald and Mary (Devlin) Severance. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Jean Severance. Russ served his country honorably with the US Navy and was retired from Harrison-Radiator in Lockport. His time and love was for family, especially his grandchildren. Surviving is his wife of 15 years, Barbara (Kingdon) Severance of Batavia; his loving daughters, BethAnne (Joseph) Nicholas of Le Roy and their children, Emily and SophieAnne; Mary Margaret Gugino and her children, Cameron, Tyler, Ryleigh and Aniston; sister, Dale (Edward) Moll of Wheatfield; dear friend, Laura Dutton-Pontillo of Byron, along with several nieces and nephews. The Severance family will be present from 3-8 p.m. on Monday, December 9th, at the Michael S. Tomaszewski Funeral and Cremation Chapel, LLC, 4120 West Main Street Road Batavia, New York 14020, where a Remembrance Service will begin at 7:30 p.m. Russ will be laid to rest in White Chapel Memorial Cemetery in Amherst with his parents. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Crossroads House PO Box 403, Batavia New York 14021.
