James Edgar Shields, 69, of
820 College Ave., former presi-
dent of Alox Corp. here, died
Sunday (Oct. 19, 1958) in Me-
morial Hospital.
He also was the former presi-
dent of the Surpass Petrochemi-
cals Ltd., Toronto, Ont.
He was born'in Rcynokbvillc, |
Pa., and lived here for 47 years.;
His wife was thc late Alice M.'
Shields. '
Mr. Shields also served as a
chemical engineer for Alox and i
was a member of thc American'
Chemical Society, National Electrochemical
Society, the Society
of Corrosion Engineers, the En-i
gincers Club of Toronto, the Ni-j
ara Club and thc First Baptbt!
Church.
He is survived by one son,
Thomas E. Shields, this city' two
daughters, Mrs. Kathryn Shipston
and Mrs. Lucille McElwain, both
of this city; one brother, Thomas
Gilbert Shields, Kenmore; 10
grandchildren and one great-
grandchild.
Funeral services will be held
at the Bell Funeral Home Wed-
nesday at 1:30 p.m. with the Rev.
Eric L.A. Hill officiating.
Interment will be in Memorial
Park Cemetery.
