Grace A. Pankow, age 91, of North Tonawanda, NY, was called to her heavenly home on Sunday, October 25, 2015, after a lengthy illness in Russell, KY.
Grace was employed by Bell Aircraft assembling airplanes during WWII, as well as Spalding Fibre, Kissler Electronics, and Emerson Electric. She was a long-time member of St. John Ev. Lutheran Church and the Adams Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary. Grace also volunteered at Crestwood Health Care Facility. She enjoyed gardening and playing cards.
Grace is survived by son, William (Gloria) Pankow of KY; and daughter, Sue (Jeffrey) Hoffman of ID; daughter-in-law, Judy Pankow of CO; five grandchildren, John (Dawn) Pankow of WI, Kimberly (Michael) Zimmerman of WI, Lisa (Matthew) Lind of DRC Congo, Africa, Stephanie (Joshua) Wood of VA, and Allison (Patrick) McKnight of KY; and nine great-grandchildren. She is survived by her sister-in-law, Jennis Pankow of FL, and leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and friends.
She was the daughter of the late William and Helena (Lentz) Fahldieck. Predeceased by her husband, Vernon Pankow; son, Vernon Pankow, Jr.; brother, William Fahldieck; and sisters Helena Miller, Dorothy Aiken, Jean Werth, and Henrietta Wendel.
A memorial service will be held in July 2016 at St. John Ev. Lutheran Church, Wheatfield, NY on a date and time to be announced. Interment will be at St. John Lutheran Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. John Ev. Lutheran Church. Arrangements are by the DUBOIS FUNERAL HOME.
