Mr. Ziehm is a lifelong
resident of North Tonawanda,
a member of St. Peter United
Church of Christ, Army
Veteran of World War I,
former Chief Criminal Deputy
of the Niagara County Sheriff
Dept retiring in 1968, and a
member of the Republican
City Committee for 35 years
and the Niagara County
Executive Committee for 25
years.
He is survived bv his wife
Anne (nee Swanson), 2 sons,
Robert Z. Ziehm of Chicago,
Illinois and Rudolph Ziehm Jr.
of North Tonawanda: a
daughter. Mrs Wallace (Betty
Lou) Durkee of Texas, twelve
grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren;
a brother, Arthur W.
Ziehm of Niagara Falls, N.Y.:
a sister, Mrs James (Olga)
Henwood of St Petersburg,
Florida
The familv will receive
friends at the Fretthold
Funeral Home, Inc., 1241 Oliver
St. at Ward Rd., SAT. and
SUN. from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9
Services will be held Mon. at
10:30 a.m. The Rev George S.
Snvder officiating. Interment
in Friedens Cemetery.

Rudy Ziehm To Retire As Deputy
Rudolph Ziehm, 68, of 25 Allen St., North Tonawanda, chief criminal deputy of the Niagara County Sheriff's Department, will retire Jan. 15 after 20 years service.
Deputy Ziehm has been chief criminal deputy since 1952. He was appointed to the Sheriff's Department in 1948 by Sheriff Henry Becker.
Deputy Ziehm served on the Niagara County Republican executive board for 18 years and was a GOP committeeman for 35 years.
He and his wife, the former Anne Swanson, have three children, 12 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
