  Tonawanda News, December 29, 1986 GUENTHER - Gladys (nee Maerten) Guenther, 81. of North Tonawanda, Saturday (December 27, 1986) after a brief illness. A lifelong resident of North Tonawanda. Mrs. Guenther was a member of Friedens United Church of Christ. With her husband, the late Albert W. Guenther, she operated Guenther's Market in North Tonawanda until retiring in 1968. She is survived by her son, Warren (Marlene) Guenther; three sisters, Mrs. Virginia Hebert, Mrs. Pearl Rhodes, and Mrs. John (Viola) Ward; a brother, Arthur (Virginia) Maerten; four grandchildren Douglas (Judy), Kevin (Susan) and Todd (Tina) Guenther and Mrs. Joseph (Susan) Garrison; also surviving are seven great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Friends may call from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Hamp Funeral Home ln., Adam and Seymour Sts., Tonawanda where funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, the Rev. Thomas E. Hardy officiating. Interment will be private at Elmlawn Cemetery.
