Engineer Dies
Andrew Gordon Simpkins,
| 55. of 3416 Wallace Dr.. Grand
i Island, died unexpectedly Friday
(March 6, 1959) at Memo-
rial Hospital.
An employe for 27 years at
Union Carbide Metals Co., he
was a designing engineer.
Mr. Simpkins was born in
; Niagara Falls, graduated from
j Niagara Falls High School-and
attended the University of
Michigan. He then j o i n ed
i Union Carbide.
He was a member of the
American Society of Mechanii
cal Engineers, LaSalle Lodge,
iNo. 1049, F&AM. and the Niagara
Lodge of Perfection,
: Buffalo Consistory of Scottish
| Rite Masonry.

I Mr. Simpkins, an avid fishi
ing, hunting and skeet shooting
enthusiast, was a member
of the Grand Island Rod and
Gun Club. He also bowled for
a Union Carbide t e am and
played golf.
He was a member of Trinity
Lutheran Church, Grand Is-
land.
Survivors include his wife,
Mrs. Frances Burwell- Simpkins.
Grand Island; one son,
Phillip .1. Simpkins, Grand Island;
his mother, Mrs. Marjory
C. Simpkins, this city;
two brothers, Edward Simpkins,
Lewiston. and Charles
Simpkins, Franklinvillc; three
sisters. Mrs. Howard Wilson,
this city, Mrs. Edwin Smith
and Mrs. Ralph Sieler, Buffalo.
Funeral Monday
Funeral services will be held
Monday at 11 a.m. at Cornell
and Daggett Funeral Chapel,
with the Rev. Franklin J. Beck,
minister of Trinity Lutheran
Church, officiating.
Masonic services will be con-
ducted Sunday at 7:30 p.m. by
LaSalle Lodge No. 1049.
