After suffering
from ill health Mrs. Cora De-
Etta Travis, wife of Henry J. Allen,
passed to her reward last Sunday afternoon
at her home on Park avenue.
! Her health had been such for several
' vears that there was no hope for any
improvement in her condition. Mrs.
Allen was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
Le Roy Travis and was born in Almond.
N. Y.. June 12. 1874. She was
united in marriage with Mr. Allen
twenty-three years ago on October 5th,
?>nd they came to Lowville to reside
the following May. She was an exceptionally
bright and attractive wo-
'man, and by her gracious manner and*
nleasing personality made many
friend*. In early life she united with
the Presbyterian church and Its kin-
, dred societies and was ever faithful
to her obligations as. long as health
would rpermit.^She was^also a mem-
ber of'Zenith Chapter. O. E. S. Surviving,
besides her husband, are two
sons. Harold T. and Raymond G.
Allen, the former In the service at
Pelham Bay. , One sister alsd* survives.
Mrs. Ida Carter, of Almond. The
funeral services -were held, yesterday
afternoon from the family home. Rev.
James Elmer Russell officiating; interment
at Rural cemetery
