NORTH TONAWANDA —
George A. Skrlin, 75, of North Tonawanda, NY, passed away on Tuesday, October 15, 2013. Born in Niagara Falls, NY, he was the son of the late Steve and Josephine (Chrzostek) Skrlin.
George was a lifelong resident of the Niagara Falls area. He attended local schools and served in the United States Navy. On November 13, 1959, George married Nancy (Butski) Skrlin at St. Stanislaus Kostka Church in Niagara Falls. Mrs. Skrlin predeceased him on August 21, 2008. In 1977, George founded Skrlin Coating and Blasting in Niagara Falls, which his family continues to own and operate today. George was a devoted family man, who enjoyed traveling with his wife Nancy, especially to Florida during the winter months. He was also actively involved with Our Lady of Bistrica Croatian Catholic Church in Lackawanna, NY.
Mr. Skrlin is survived by his children, Deborah (Adolf) Rupnig of Lewiston, NY, Michael Skrlin of Buffalo, NY, Steve (Judy) Skrlin of Ransomville, NY and James Gibbons of Niagara Falls, NY; four grandchildren, Melanka Perrelli, Katrina Bowman, Adam Skrlin and Stephanie Skrlin; two great-grandchildren, Madison Perrelli and Alexandria Skrlin.
Visitation will be held on Thursday from 6-9 PM at the M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY, where funeral services will begin on Friday, October 18th at 9:15 AM, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM at St. Raphael Parish, corner of College and Macklem Avenues, Niagara Falls, NY with Rev. Ivan Skenderovich officiating. Interment will follow in St. Michael's Cemetery Lewiston, NY.
