- Raymond A. Behrens, 84, of Lewiston, NY passed away on Wednesday, March 1, 2023 at Niagara Rehabilitation & Nursing Center. Born in Niagara Falls, NY on September 23, 1938 he was the son of the late Kenneth R. and Jane E. (Porter) Behrens. Raymond entered the United States Army on October 1, 1961. He was a parts supply specialist/mechanic with the 969th Engr Bn. He was honorably discharged as a SP4 on August 9, 1962.
After serving his country, Raymond continued his career in the automotive industry, working for Cy's Stewarts Auto parts, Wrights Corners Auto parts and lastly at NAPA auto parts. When he wasn't working, he was a avid reader, classic car & train enthusiast and enjoyed traveling. Above all his number 1 concern was family. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, and grandfather, who was very compassionate and kind. He also had a great sense of humor to top it all off.
He is survived by his children, Shelly (Jack) Shipman and Robert R. Behrens; grandson, James (Lyndsay) Blasko, great-grandchildren, Patrick and Kory. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Carol (Anderluh) Behrens.
Friends may call Monday, March 6th from 5-8PM at ZAJAC FUNERAL HOME INC., 319 24th Street, Niagara Falls, NY, where Military Honors will be held at 7:00PM. Burial in Niagara Falls Memorial Park Cemetery, Lewiston, NY will take place at the convenience of the family.
