- Carl W. Wegener, 47, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away on December 9, 2024, surrounded by his beloved family at Mt. Sinai Hospital in New York, NY. Born in Westerly, RI, he was the son of Carol J. (Henderson) Wegener and the late Carl H. Wegener.
Carl was raised in Niagara Falls, where he graduated from LaSalle Senior High School. For over 30 years, he worked for Burger King at locations on Niagara Falls Boulevard and Main Street previously serving as an assistant manager. He was also a member and former Acolyte and Crucifer at Zion Lutheran Church in Niagara Falls for many years.
Carl was an avid outdoorsman and a longtime member of the LaSalle Sportsmen’s Club. He loved playing euchre and competing in dart, pool, and bowling leagues throughout Niagara Falls.
Carl was a dedicated Buffalo Bills and New York Yankees fan. His legacy of love, dedication, and passion for life will be fondly remembered by all who knew him.
In addition to his mother, Carol, he is survived by his sister, Shauna Wegener; and was the nephew of Robert Henderson, the late Doug (Cheryl) Henderson, Ann (late James) Wegener, Elaine (Ron) Fees, and Erwin (Cindy) Wegener. He is also survived by many cherished cousins, countless friends, and his belove dog, Ace.
Through his selfless nature, Carl’s was able to help the lives of multiple individuals by giving the final gift as an organ and tissue donor upon his passing.
Visitation will be held on Monday, December 16, from 3 - 7 PM at M.J. Colucci & Son Niagara Funeral Chapel, 2730 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY, where funeral services will begin on Tuesday at 11 AM. Interment will follow in Niagara Falls Memorial Park Cemetery, Lewiston, NY. Memorial offerings may be made to Zion Lutheran Church, 1010 Michigan Avenue, Niagara Falls, NY 14305.
