  Niagara Gazette - 6/23/1948 Charles P. Franklin. 72, a lifelong resident of this city and last descendant of one of the frontier's pioneer families, died today at his home, 01 A street, after being In poor health for a number of years. He was the son of the late George A. and Rosia Fleck Franklin, members of a family which operated the old Franklin house atthe south end of the city for a number of years. I He was a retired operator of the Niagara-Falls Power-company. Active In Republican political circles for a number of years, he was a former' supervisor of the Fourteenth ward. He was a member of the Niagara Falls Exempt Firemen's association. , Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Amalia Franklin;- a son, James A. Franklin, Toledo, O.; a daughter. Mrs. Elwood B. Sparling, this city, three grandchildren, and a nephew. The Rev. Blake B. Hammond will conduct funeral services, at the home at 2 pm. Interment will be In Oakwood cemetery..
