- Albert J. ‘Skip’ Gazy, 95, of Niagara Falls, NY passed away peacefully on September 3, 2024 at Our Lady of Peace Nursing Care Residence. Born in Niagara Falls, he was the son of the late Nasri and Victoria (Jacob) Gazy; and the beloved husband of Ramona Gazy, whom he married on June 15, 1968.
Albert proudly served in the United States National Guard. He worked alongside his brothers at Gazy Brother’s Texaco Station prior to its closing in 1981 and later retired from the Niagara Falls City School District after many dedicated years.
Albert had a great love for boxing. In his younger years, he enjoyed boxing at the Niagara Falls Boy’s Club. He had an unforgettable sense of humor and loved watching Western TV Shows. Above all, Albert cherished the time spent with his family, especially his three granddaughters who he adored immensely.
Albert is survived by his children, Monique (Keith) Crossley and Louis DalPorto; his grandchildren, Danielle DalPorto, Samantha DalPorto and Elise Gazy; his daughter-in-law, Joanne DalPorto and many nieces and nephews.
Albert was predeceased by his wife, Ramona in 2020. In addition, he was predeceased by his siblings, William (late Martha) Gazy, Michael (late Dorothy) Gazy, Annie (late Paul) Rossman, Lorraine (late Victor) Tarpinian, Emil (late Doris) Gazy, Margaret (late Don) Hall and Philip Gazy.
The family wishes to thank the staff of Our Lady of Peace for the outpouring of care and compassion given to Albert.
Visitation will be held Monday, September 9 from 3 – 8 PM at M.J. Colucci & Son Niagara Funeral Chapel, 2730 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY, where funeral services will begin Tuesday at 11:15 AM, followed by Albert’s Mass of Christian Burial at 12 Noon in St. Joseph’s Church, 1413 Pine Avenue, Niagara Falls, NY.
