- Kenneth C. Schroeder, age 57, of Bergholz, was called to his heavenly home, unexpectedly, on Thursday, February 11, 2010 in Sisters Hospital, Buffalo. Born in Niagara Falls, NY on November 14, 1952 to Carl and Joyce (Milleville) Schroeder. He attended Holy Ghost Lutheran School and graduated from Niagara Wheatfield High School, Class of 1970. Ken continued his education, earning his Journeyman's Millwright degree. He was employed at Stoelting Machine from 1968-1973, Carborundum 1973-2002, afterwards at Ferro, and was presently employed as a mechanic with the Wheatfield Highway Department. Ken was a lifelong member of Holy Ghost Lutheran Church in Bergholz, and a member of the Bergholz Fire Company. Hobbies included gardening, baseball and fishing.Survivors include his mother, Joyce Schroeder of Wheatfield; two sisters, Sherryl (Dana) Rimer of Bergholz and Christie (Michael) Scive of Wheatfield; a brother, Michael (Nicole) Schroeder of Ransomville; longtime loving companion, Judi Jagow of Bergholz; best friend, Christian DiRamio; and several nieces and nephews, Jennifer (Brian) Baney, Jessica Rimer, Michael Scive II, Andrew Scive, Matthew Scive, Alina Schroeder and Jack Schroeder. He was predeceased by his father, Carl Schroeder.Friends may call at the DUBOIS FUNERAL HOME, 2436 Niagara Road (Bergholz), in Wheatfield, on Sunday from 1-3 and 6-8 PM. Services will be conducted by the Rev. Philip N. Sallach on Monday at 10:30 AM in Holy Ghost Lutheran Church, corner Niagara Road and Luther Street. Interment in Holy Ghost Lutheran Cemetery.
