- Wilfred A. “Junior” Strassburg, Jr., 69, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away on August 5, 2019, after a brief illness. Born in Niagara Falls on January 12, 1950, he was the son of the late Wilfred and June (Beemer) Strassburg, Sr.
Junior married his beloved wife of 42 years, Diana (Bauer) Strassburg on February 6, 1977 in Niagara Falls. He was employed for many years as a truck driver for B.F.C Corp., Mark Cerrone, Inc., and also assisted in building J & J Strassburg Trucking with his son. He was also an exempt Niagara Active Hose for over 25 years.
Junior enjoyed watching his kids and grandkids play sports. He also owned race cars that his son and nephew raced competitively throughout the area. For his accomplishments, he was awarded the Ransomville Speedway Owner of the Year Award.
Above all, Junior’s life was devoted to family. He centered his life around them and loved spending time with his children and grandchildren more than anything. He will be deeply missed.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, James (Kayla) Strassburg and Janice (Chad) Strassburg; grandchildren, Jamie, Victoria, James, Jr., Lauren and Jason; siblings, Janice Strassburg, Patricia (Robert) Derba, Bob (Marlene) Strassburg, Roger Strassburg, Adrian Strassburg, Karen (Robert) Brawn, and Kristine Strassburg; sister-in-law, Alice Edwards, as well as many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by one brother, Eugene (JoAnne) Strassburg, his in-laws, Joseph and Minnie Bauer; and his brother-in-law Ronald Bauer.
Visitation will be on Monday and Tuesday from 2 – 4 & 7 – 9 P.M. at M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 Military Road, Niagara Falls, where funeral services will be on Wednesday, August 14th at 11 A.M. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.
