- Officer Dies In Hospital
YOUNGSTOWN - Clarence Broeker, 64, of 444 Lockport St., manager of the Youngstown Cold Storage Co. here for 18 years, died Tuesday (Feb. 6, 1962) at Niagara Falls Memorial Hospital. Mr. Broeker became ill Tuesday morning at home and was taken to the hospital in the Youngstown Volunteer Fire Co. ambulance. Mr. Broeker was-born in Niagara Falls on July 17, 1897, son of Albert and Augusta Broeker. The family moved to Youngstown shortly afterward. He was a life member and trustee of St. John's Lutheran Church and a member of the Exempt Fire Co. Surviving are his widow, Ada Kolloff Broeker; a son, Calvin Broeker of Lockport Street; a daughter, Mrs. Jane Thurm, North Tonawanda; four brothers, Alfred, Arthur, and Erwin Broeker, all of Youngstown, and Roy Broeker of Niagara Falls; four sisters, Mrs. Alta Cornell, Wilson, Mrs. Mabel Nichols, Lewiston, Mrs. Alice Bars, an Mrs. Florence Lloyd, both of Youngstown, and four grandchildren. Private funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the home and at 2 p.m. at St. John's Church with Rev. Elvin J. Riemer officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. The family said that donations to St. John's Building Fund will be acceptable as tributes.
