Mrs. Gertrude Metzinger of Pen-
dleton announces the engagement
of her daughter. Marie Gertrude
to Arnold Raymond Boehnke. son
of Mr. and Mrs. Otto Boehnke of
Aiken Road. The wedding will be
solemnized July 1 at 9 o'clock at
the Good Shepherd Church, Pendleton.

Baskets of peonies, red roses and
white carnations decorated the altars
of Good Shepherd Church, Pendleton,
Saturday morning, July 1,
at 9 o clock when the Rev. Anthony
Nichter officiated at a double ring
ceremony in which Miss Marie C.
Metzinger of Pendleton, became
the bride of Arnold R. Boehnke. son
of Mr. and Mrs. Otto Boehnke of
Aiken Road, Lockport.
Given in marriage by her old
est brother, Kenneth, the bride
chose a traditional gown of slipper
satin trimmed with' French lace
Insets of lace and satin bows highlighted
her boat neckline and a
long train extended from her full
skirt.
ILLUSION VEIL
Chantilly lace edged her fingertip
veil of French Illusion which
was caught to a crown-style tiara
of orange blossoms. She carried
a bouquet of white rosea, lilies of
the valley and a white orchid and
the groom's gift, a rhinestone neck
lace and matching earrings, com
pleted her costume.
Miss Lucille Metzinger was her
sister's maid of Honor in an or
chid marquisette gown. The bridesmaids,
Mrs. Irma Schultz, the
Misses Thelma and Gertrude Metzinger
and Miss Shirley Boehnke,
were gowned alike in yellow mar
quisetta and were matching gauntlets
and net hats. The attendants
carried bouquets of y e l l ow
roses, orchid sweet peas and
of the valley.
Kenneth Metzinger was best man
and Donald and Otto Boehnke. Bu
gene Meteinger and Henry Schultz
ushered.
The bride's mother wore a sheer
black crepe while the groom's
mother was attired in a navy blue
crepe. Both accented their gownr
with white accessories and orchid
corsages.
After a wedding breakfast for 22
guests at the bride's home, a dinner
for 25 guests was served at
Klein's restaurant. Pendleton. In
the evening a reception to 350 relatival
and friends was held at the
WendelvUle Fire Hall.
RED GABARDINE SUIT
Mrs. Boehnke chose a red gabardine
suit complemented by white
accessories and a white orchid for
a wedding trip to the New Eng
land States. On their return t he
couple will beat home at 221 Getzville
Road, Snyder.
The bride attended Lockport High
School, and the groom, who attended
North Tonawanda High School
served with the Marines during
World War II.
Prenuptial parties included bedroom,
personal, bathroom, kitchen
and variety and personal showers
and a dinner after rehearsal.
