WILSON—Erwin H. Witkop, 55, of 4186 E. Lake
Road, died Thursday (Sept. 8, 1966) in the office of
Dr. John Argue after suffering an apparent heart
attack.
Wilson Fire Co. No. 1 responded
to a call from the
office and attempted resuscitation
for about 20 minutes
but without success.
Mr. Witkop was an employe
of Bell Aerosystems'
Wheatfield plant.
He was born July 17, 1911,
in Niagara Falls, the son
of Albert H. and Anna Grefrath
Witkop. He married
the former Myrtha Schmidt
in 1937. They made their
home at the E. Lake Road
since 1946.
Mr. Witkop was a member
of St. Peter's Lutheran
Church, North Ridge, and
was serving as an elder at the
time of his death. He was a
member of the board of directors
of Camp Pioneer at
Angola, a member of the
Wilson Lions Club and of the
Eldridge Bicycle Club, Tonawanda.
In addition to his widow,
survivors include two daugh-
ters, Judith Witkop, at home,
and Mrs. Brenda Fouts, Freeville,
N.Y.; three sons, William
A. Witkop, Scranton,
Pa., Michael E. Witkop,
Craig Air Force Base, Selma,
Ala., and Bruce M. Witkop, at
home; two sisters, Mrs. Mildred
Lorenz, Tonawanda, and
Mrs. Pearl Moeller, North
Tonawanda; three brothers,
Walter, Howard and Martin
Witkop, all of North Tonawanda,
and four grandchildren.
Friends may call, starting
tonight, at the Hamilton and
Clark Funeral Chapel where
the family will be present
from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted
at 3 p.m. Sunday at St. Peter's
Lutheran Church, North
Ridge, by Rev. William
Faust. Burial will be in St.
Matthew's Cemetery, North
Tonawanda.
The family said contributions
to charities of choice
will be acceptable as tributes
