  Virginia M. Strablow, age 81, of Lockport and formerly of Wilson, died Thursday, October 23, 2008 at the InterCommunity Memorial Hospital at Newfane. She was born in Lockport on April 30, 1927, the daughter of the late Clarence and Irene Honick Hillman. She was a former employee at the Kramp Cold Storage in Burt. She was a life member of the Wilson Historical Society, a member of the Niagara County Historical Society, a member of Thrivent for Lutherans, a member of the Historical Society of North German Settlements in WNY, a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Saxton St., Lockport and a former member of St. Peter Lutheran Church, Cambria. She married Gordon Strablow on October 11, 1947. He predeceased her on January 12, 2004. She was also predeceased by a sister, Genevieve (Russell) Seefeldt; and a sister-in-law, Leona (Norman) Schultz.She is survived by five children, Martha Level of Niagara Falls, NY, Laverne (Elizabeth) Strablow of Lockport, Lucille (Vincent) Zarbo of Cheektowaga, NY, Margaret (Jakub) Sapieznski of Kendall Park, NJ, and Linda (Paul) Wzientek of West Seneca, NY; ten grandchildren, Steven (Somer VanDermark) Strablow, Heather (Randy Jocks) Clifford, Nickolas, Matthew and Justin Sapieznski, Anastasia and Michael Zarbo, Andrew, Thomas and Philip Wzientek; two great grandchildren, Logan and Keara Clifford; a sister, Lorraine Grose; and a sister-in-law, Esther (Raymond) Lange of Otto, NY; also survived by several nieces and nephews.Friends may call Sunday 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the Hamilton and Clark, Inc., Funeral Home, 270 Young Street, Wilson. Funeral services will be held Monday at 11 AM at St. Peter Lutheran Church, 4169 Church Road, Cambria with Rev. Otto Struckman and Rev. Alan Bauch co-officiating. Burial will be in North Ridge Cemetery, Cambria.
