- NORMA R. WITKOP, age 94 of Wheatfield, NY, was called to her heavenly home on April 26, 2019 while at the Northgate Health Facility. Born in the Town of Wheatfield on September 10, 1924; daughter of the late James and Grace (Nerber) Masters. Norma graduated from North Tonawanda High School in 1942, and was employed at Starpoint Central School, in the cafeteria, as a cooks helper for several years. Norma was a longtime member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in North Tonawanda, and a former member of the American Legion Wheatfield Post 1451.
Norma was preceded in death by her husband, Norman "Jack" Witkop; a loving companion, Gilford Verhagne; three sisters, Muriel (Leonard) Winter, Evelyn (Eugene) Lilac, and Marie (Milton) Haseley; and two brothers, Melvin and Everett (Arline) Masters.
Survivors include her loving children, Duane (Claudia) Witkop, Rita Burns, and Joan Adams; seven grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the DuBois Funeral Home, 2436 Niagara Road, (Bergholz) in Wheatfield, on Tuesday (April 30) from 4-7 p.m. Services will be conducted by the Rev. Ernest Green, at 7:00 p.m. following visitation. Interment will be in the Wheatfield Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church, 453 Old Falls Blvd., North Tonawanda, NY 14120.
