- July 3, 2014 Lucille D. Strassburg Anonymous The Tonawanda News The Tonawanda News Thu Jul 03, 2014, 02:02 PM EDT NORTH TONAWANDA - Lucille D. (Krupp) Strassburg, passed from this earthly life to be with her late husband LaVerne "Hub" Strassburg on Tuesday, July 1, 2014 in DeGraff Memorial Hospital. She was born in North Tonawanda on August 24, 1923 and was employed for many years as a legal secretary. Lucille was a longtime member of St. Mark Lutheran Church where she served on the PTA and was a member of the Ladies Guild. She was a talented seamstress, an avid reader and always felt her family and church were most important in her life. She is survived by her children, Jan (Paul) Kolbe of North Tonawanda, James (late Melanie) Strassburg of Tennessee, Lynne Tavano of Texas and Susan (Leon) Szczerbinski of North Tonawanda; grandchildren, Mark (Rachelle) Kolbe, Jennifer (Jamie) Elmer, Jaime (Michael) Davidson, Erin Strassburg, Ann (Owen) DiVico, Sara (Steven) Hannon, John Szczerbinski, Thomas Zalewski and Rebecca Zalewski; great-grandchildren, Benjamin Kolbe, Luke Kolbe, Nora Davidson and Kurt Davidson; a brother, William (Marcia) Krupp; and a sister-in-law of Robert (Margaret) Strassburg. In addition to her late husband, LaVerne, she was predeceased by a sister, Jean Riley. There will be no prior visitation. Friends are invited to attend funeral services on Monday, July 7th at 10:30 AM in St. Mark Lutheran Church, 1135 Oliver Street, North Tonawanda with burial to follow in St. Mark Lutheran Cemetery.
