Dies Hour
After Party
RANSOMVILLEGeorge E.
Hodge, 83, formerly of 723
Third St., Niagara Falls, died
Friday (June 26, 1964) in General
Hospital here;
Mr. Hodge had been a patient
at the hospital for three
years. His wife Rosa has been
a patient for two years. On
Friday, the hospital staff gave
a party for the couple and
the immediate family in honor
of their 62nd wedding anniversary.
.Mr. Hodge collapsed
and died an hour later.
A native of London, England,
Mr. Hodge came to Canada
at the age of nine and
to Niagara Falls 10 years later.
He was an electrical contractor
there for more than .35
years and after retiring served
as night desk clerk at the
Red Coach Inn for 10 years.
He retired from that position
13 years ago.
He was a charter member
of Grace Lutheran Church.
He is survived by his widow,
the former Rosa Strassburg;
three daughters, Mrs. Eugene
(Beatrice) Moodie and Mrs.
Audra Beaver, both of Niagara
Fallsu and Mrs. Frank (Wil
helmfna) Zajan, Lewiston; one
son, George A-Hodge, Niagara
Falls; 15 grandchildren and
29 great-grandchildren.
Another son, Lt. Leslie W.
Hodge, U.S. Air Force, was
killed in action in Burma in
1944.
He was the father-inrlaw of
Mrs. Ruth Hodge, Fairport,
and the brother-in-law of Mrs.
Ida Hodge, Niagara Falls.
Friends may call after 7
p.m. today at the Rhoncy Funeral
Home where services
will be held Monday at 1:30
p.m.. Rev. Robert Erickson officiating.
Burial will be in St.
Matthew's Cemetery, North
Tonawanda.
