WINTER PARK, FL — Donald Curtis “Strass” Strassel died peacefully on June 24, 2010 in Winter Park, FL. Born September 4, 1925, in Lockport, NY, he was the first born of William and Alice (Curtis) Strassel. He attended school there, served in the Army and graduated from St. Bonaventure University. He passed his love of hunting, fishing and golf on to his six children, and enjoyed following sports with them throughout his life. During Strass’s career in the marine industry he sold for many boat companies, including Pursuit and Tiara. He retired in 1995. An adventurer at heart, Strass was well-traveled and well-read. He will be remembered as a warm, creative wit who loved to share stories. Many an evening he could be found around the dinner table, part of a lively conversation long after the meal was finished.
