- NORTH TONAWANDA - Julius Fischer, 68, a World War I veteran, of 23 Lynwood Ave., died Monday (July 1, 1963) at Buffalo Veterans Hospital after a long illness. He was born in Buffalo and had lived most of his life in this city. He was a retired employee of Spaulding Fibre Inc. and was a member of Salem United Church of Christ, American Legion, Tonawanda Post No. 264, Ken-Ton Post of Kenmore, and during the war served with the 78th Division in Europe. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Mamie Heppner Fischer; a daughter; Mrs. Donald (Judith) Klein; this city; three brothers, Robert and Elmer Fischer this city, and Clarence Fischer, Long Beach, Calif.; three sisters, Mrs. Martha Wrege, Mrs. Lillian Kohler and Mrs. Lester Warblow, all of this city. Friends may call from 24 p.m. at the Fretthold Funeral Home where services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Friday by Rev. Donald Gardella. Burial will be in Elmlawn Cemetery.
