Walter W. Kroening, veteran employee of Dobbie Foundry and Machine Co., died Tuesday (Aug. 25, 1959) at Memorial Hospital after a lengthy illness. He was 73 years old. Born in the Town of Wheatfield, Mr. Kroening moved to Niagara Falls as a youth and for many years resided at 642 Fourth St. During his illness he made his home with his daughter, Mrs. Leonard J. Brady, 8209 Pershing Ave. An employee of Dobbie Foundry for 39 years, Mr. Kroening was well known in the construction industry here. He was in charge of shipping for the local firm when he died. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Mabel M. Kroening; two daughters, Mrs. William A. Boles and Mrs. Brady; a sister, Mrs. Benjamin Wollenberg, North Tonawanda, and four
grandchildren, Sandra Lee, Cynthia Jean and William A. Boles Jr., and Carol Anne
Brady. Mr. Kroening was a member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church. Funeral services will be held at Lane Funeral Home at 1:30 p. m. Friday, with the Rev.
Paul J. Hartenberger, pastor of the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, officiating,
with interment in the Town of Wheatfield Cemetery. Memorial offerings may be
made to the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church.
