LOCKPORT - Mrs. Anna
Irene Downey, 82, of 29 West
High Street, a city employe,
died Sunday (May 9, 1971)
at the home of her daughter,
Mrs. John Van Bourgondien
of 9624 Tonawanda Creek
Road, Clarence Center.
A native and life-long resident
of Lockport, M r s .
Downey was born July 11,
1908, the daughter of Joseph
and Elizabeth Gense Meyers.
She had been employed at
the former Niagara Supply
Firm here as a secretary for
25 years. For the past ten
years, she had been employed
in the city treasurer's office
here.
Besides her daughter, she
is s u r v i v e d by four
grandchildren and five
sisters, Mrs. Harold Sy, Mrs.
William Greepman, M r s .
Thomas Wilson, Mrs. Harold
Wells and Miss Ruth Meyers,
and a brother, Joseph Meyers
Jr., all of Lockport.
Friends may call from 2
to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the
Gaul Funeral Home, 263 East
Avenue,. where services will
be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday.

Burial will be in Glenwood
