LOCKPORT — Marian Bugenhagen Luskey, age 101, of Lockport, NY, died peacefully in her sleep at Odd Fellow and Rebekah Health Facility on Tuesday, April 19, 2011. Born on March 6, 1910 on Lewis St. in Lockport, she was the daughter of Herman and Augusta Heiman Bugenhagen.
She graduated from Bryant & Stratton College and worked at Harrison Radiator and Lockport Cotton Batting. In 1937, she married her late husband, Arnold F. Luskey and in 1946 they moved to Middleport where she lived for 40 years. She was a homemaker and enjoyed her family, especially all her grandchildren. Before moving to Odd Fellow & Rebekah Health Facility, she resided happily at The Lockport Presbyterian Home for almost four years. While there she was named Queen of Old Home Days for Lockport's celebration last summer.
Survived by daughters, Susan Morrison (Gerald) and Jane Corser (Don); five grandchildren, Mark Morrison (Virginia), Michael Morrison (Corey), Melinda Morrison Scales (Bryan) and Jeff and Chris Corser (Laura); four great-grandchildren, Aiden, Ciara and Jack Scales and Andrew Corser; her brother, Raymond (Mary) Bugenhagen; and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her husband, Arnold F. Luskey in 1969; her brother, Emory Bugenhagen; her sisters, Marguerite Wendel and Frances Conlin; and sisters-in-law, Helen Bugenhagen and Helen Donald.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, April 29, 2011 at 10:00 AM at the Lockport Presbyterian Home, 305 High Street, Lockport, NY. Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association or Lockport Public Library.
