- Charles C. Tedesco, 96, beloved father, grandfather and great-grandfather passed away peacefully with loved ones by his side on Monday, December 10, 2018 in Schoellkopf Health Care Facility Niagara Falls, NY. He was the son of Francesco and Antonina “Lena” (Militello) Tedesco. Charles was born on March 5th, in Niagara Falls, N.Y. On September 6, 1947, he married the former Sue Magliazzo who predeceased him in 1990. Mr. Tedesco served his country honorably in WWII as a radio operator in the US Air Force. He worked as a mechanic at the former Vanadium Plant and also worked as an operator at the Niagara Falls Water Treatment Plant until his retirement in 1984. He was a member of the American Legion and the Cadille Post. He also enjoyed playing bingo, bowling and listening to big band music. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family. Mr. Tedesco is survived by two daughters, Linda (James) Marshall of Lewiston and Joanne (Charles) Govern of Niagara Falls; five grandchildren, Dr. Jason (Claire) Marshall, Jodi Marshall, Justine (Charles) DelGobbo, Ryan Govern and Kyle Govern; six great-grandchildren, Samantha Shumaker, Elliana Marshall, James Marshall, Leah Marshall, Selena Govern, Aaliyah Govern and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife, Mr. Tedesco was predeceased by several sisters and brothers, Josephine Critelli, Lucy Thorman, Lena Zelinsky, Thomas S. Tedesco, Anthony J. Tedesco, John H. Tedesco, Frank J. (Chick) Tedesco, Henry L. Tedesco and Sebastian Tedesco; nieces, Beverly Tedesco and Janice Tedesco-Russo; nephews, Anthony Tedesco and Benjamin Critelli. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday December 14th at 10:00 AM at Holy Family of Jesus Mary and Joseph Parish at St. Joseph Church, 1413 Pine Avenue, Niagara Falls. Entombment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. Family and friends invited. In lieu of flowers, memorials many be made in Charles’ memory to Niagara Hospice, 4675 Sunset Dr., Lockport, NY 14094.
