- NIAGARA FALLS Louise "Ardell" (nee Reed) Valic, 66, of Niagara Falls, NY, entered into rest on Thursday, May 27, 2010 at Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center, Niagara Falls, NY, following a brief illness. Born on September 27, 1943, in Buffalo, NY, she was the daughter of the late Evertt F. Reed, Jr. and the late Leona (Jewell) Nichols. Louise was the step-daughter of the late Winston Nichols. Mrs. Valic was a lifelong resident of Niagara Falls, NY and attended local schools. On January 19, 1969, Louise married Lynn Valic. She worked as an X-Ray Technician for VanDuesen and DeGraff Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Valic was also employed as an LPN for Staff Builders. Anyone who knew her also knew of her love for cats, of which she had many pet cats over the years. In addition to her beloved husband, Lynn, of 41 years, Mrs. Valic is survived by two sisters, Diane (Gilbert) Bucci of Niagara Falls, NY and Pamela (Randy) Marshall of Vittoria, Ontario, Canada; one brother, Barry (Carol) Nichols of Franklinville, NY; one niece, Nori Bucci; two nephews, Mark (Staci) Bucci and Barry Marshall; several cousins and a dear friend, Katherine Morrison. Friends may call on Tuesday from 4-9 PM at the OTTO REDANZ FUNERAL HOME, 2215 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY (297-9007), where a funeral service will be held on Wednesday, June 2nd at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow in Niagara Falls Memorial Park Cemetery, Lewiston, NY. In lieu of flowers, memorial offerings may be made to the Niagara County SPCA, 2100 Lockport Road, P.O.
