Sanborn woman was 86 years old
SANBORN - Helen E. LeVan, 86, of Buffalo Street, Sanborn, died Wednesday (April 25, 1990) in Columbus, Ohio, while visiting her daughter. The native of Lockport was the daughter of Olin D. and Cora (Gundy) Shaft. She moved to Sanborn in 1925. She was a member of the Sanborn United Methodist Church, where she was former superintendent of the children's department. She was the widow of Norman R. LeVan, who was a local hardware dealer. He died in 1976. She was sister of the late Howard Shaft, Roger Shaft and Walter Shaft. Mrs. LeVan is survived by one son, Willis N. LeVan of Bradenton, Fla.; and two daughters, Norma Jean Munch of Wilmington, Del., and Majorie (sic) Napier of Columbus. She is also survived by six grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. There will be no prior visitation. Services will be held at the convenience of the family with the Rev. Larry Smith officiating. Burial will be in Acacia Park Cemetery, Pendleton. Arrangements were made by the Rhoney Funeral Home, Sanborn.
