- James D. Thorsen
NIAGARA FALLS - James D. Thorsen Sr., 59, of 791 99th St., died Tuesday (March 15, 1977) in Memorial Medical Center. Born in Sea Bright, N.J., he lived here many years and was a pipefitter for Carborundum Co. for five years. He had formerly worked at the former Kimberly Clark Corp. and Vanadium Steel Corp. He served in the U.S. Army Tank Corps Fourth Armored Division in World War II and was a member of the Oil, Chemical and Atomic Workers International Union, the Fourth Armored Division Inc., the 77lth Tank Battalion Association, an exempt member of the Ocean Fire Co. in Sea Bright and was a merit badge counselor for the Boy Scouts of America. Survivors include his wife, Pandora Thorsen; a son, James D. Thorsen Jr. of Suffolk Va.; a daughter, Mrs. Roger (Winifred) Zents of North Tonawanda; a sister, Mrs. Paul (Irene) Hally of Sonyea, N.Y., and three grandchildren.
