BUFFALO — Louis H. Timmerman passed away July 17, 2011 in Millard Fillmore Hospital, Gates Circle, Buffalo, after a month-long illness.
Louis was born in Texas September 4, 1922. His family moved to Lockport while he was an infant. He served in the Army Military Police during WWII, in Italy and Northern Africa. Louis married the late Virginia M. Gibson October 17, 1942. She passed away July 22, 2005. Upon returning to Lockport after the war, he went to Harrison Radiator where he became a die setter, retiring in 1981. He was an avid fisherman tying his own fishing flies, loved playing cards and his Buffalo Bills.
He is survived by his daughter, Diane (John) Daigler and son, Michael Timmerman, both of Lockport; two granddaughters, Margot (David) Schmitt and Tara (Jeff) Sheehan; seven great-grandchildren. Louis was predeceased by two brothers and one sister.
Relatives and friends may call Tuesday 4 to 6 PM in Prudden and Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee St., Lockport. Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. Memorials to Niagara Hospice, 4675 Sunset Drive, Lockport, NY 14094 would be appreciated by the family.
