Four area residents have left
gross estates exceeding a total
of $200,000 according to state tax
appraisals signed Monday by
Surrogate Frank J. Kronenberg.
Ellsworth M. Bigalow of the
Town of Wilson, who died Aug
22. 1959, left a gross estate of
$92,24581. The net estate was
$83,676.08 and an exemption reduced
the state tax to $1,600.28.
Mr. Bigalow provided for several
charitable bequests in a win
dated June 21, 1955. The residue
was left to a son, Alanson C.
Bigalow, Wilson, and a daughter
F. Leah Bigalow of Washington
D. C.
Mr. Bigalow left $500 each to
the Exley Methodist Church, the
Salvation Army, N. Ridge Methodist
Episcopal Church, American
Cancer Society and the American
Red Cross.
His estate included $32,000 in
stocks and bonds, $24,255 in
mortgages notes and cash and
$10,000 in insurance. Bonds included
$10,591.44 in Group Securities
Inc., and $12,000 in U. S.
Savings bonds.
