- Richard P. Credicott, a longtime resident of Niagara Falls, passed away peacefully, Saturday, May 20, 2017 in Niagara Hospice House. He was 79. He was born in Swedesboro, NJ on June 24, 1937, the son of the late Percy and Florence (Spurell) Credicott, settling in Niagara Falls when he was a child. He attended the former LaSalle Jr/Sr High School.
Richard served in the US Army and the US Air Force Reserves. He was honorably discharged September 30, 1961.
In 1961, he married the former Linda Ray and began his 39 and a half year career with the Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company. He served in many offices of its Union, OCAW 8277 including its President. He also served for 30 years as Vice President of the Goodyear Activities Union and was on the committee of its credit Union.
A man of laid back nature, he loved visiting his friends at Casale’s Tavern; daily visits to TOPS and the occasional stops at the casino. He just enjoyed being out and about in the community. He was a lifelong devoted fan of the Cleveland Browns.
He is survived by his wife, Linda (Ray) Credicott; two daughters. Kelly Riexinger (late Thomas) of North Tonawanda; Tracy Credicott of Niagara Falls; siblings, Dorothy Broughman of Michigan; Sue Ann (Gerald) Jeffries of North Carolina; Gary (Debi) Credicott of Niagara Falls; three grandchildren, Thomas and Christopher Riexinger and Kayla Credicott; a great grandchild, Savannah Riexinger; his sister in law, Louise (late Jack) Livermore of Niagara Falls; his lifelong friend, Bob Mooney of Niagara Falls, several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by siblings, Marybeth Credicott; Kenneth Credicott; Floyd Credicott and David Credicott.
Friends may call Wednesday from 4-8 PM in the LANE FUNERAL HOME, INC., 8622 Buffalo Avenue, Niagara Falls, where Funeral services will be held Thursday 10 AM.The interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
