- Of Sanborn, NY, passed away on Tuesday, January 3, 2017, in the Erie County Medical Center, Buffalo, NY. He was born in Sanborn, on July 24, 1931, the son of the late Floyd W. and Helen F. [Post] Treichler.
Mr. Treichler graduated from Wilson High School and from Erie County Technical Institute. He served with the US Navy, during the Korean War.
Mr. Treichler was employed with Niagara Mohawk and later with the New York Power Authority for over 20 years, before retiring in 1993. He was a very active member of the Community Bible Church.
Mr. Treichler loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and enjoyed cooking and gardening.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Nancy [Wright] Treichler, two sons D. Thomas W. (Paige) Treichler and Larry Treichler, two daughters Carol Treichler-Caswell and Vicki Price, one sister Gloria (late Ronald) Carlisle, also thirteen grandchildren, four great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
His family will be present on Friday from 4 - 7:00 PM at the RHONEY FUNERAL HOME, 5893 Hoover Road SANBORN, NY and on Saturday from 10-11:00 AM at the Community Bible Church, 4168 Church Road, Lockport, NY, where funeral service will follow at 11:00 AM, with the Rev. Brad Delp officiating.
Memorials may be made in his name to the Church Building Fund.
Inurnment with military honors in Acacia Park Cemetery, Town of Pendleton, NY.
